community center

Now Open!
Lead Pastor, John and Gwen Elmer recently purchased a building at 709 North Salina Street and are in the process of renovating the space. They will live upstairs and oversee a community center on the first floor as they seek to love and serve the people of the Northside.

After School Tutoring

Recently, we've begun a partnership with Hopeprint, a neighboring non-profit. Hopeprint has after school tutoring for 4th - 12th graders during the school year in the Hopeprint building. In conjunction with this program, the Vineyard Community Center will host an enrichment activities  in our building. This fun, organized, and educational time will take place during tutoring hours and will be available for younger siblings of students in tutoring and for students who've completed their homework at tutoring. Students attending enrichment are Pre-K through 8th grade.

Both programs will run Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 5-6:15pm.

Adult Computer Classes

A group of volunteers have put together a curriculum for adults who'd like to gain enough computer skills to work in a clerical setting. Class scheduling will ultimately depend on  teachers' availability, but the hope is to offer this 80-minute class three times per day and three days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) to ensure that anyone from the community who is interested could attend.

Youth Leadership Development

This program is in its second full year. We have a partnership with Franklin Magnet School and offer a year-long mentorship program for 4th graders. This small group meets weekly on Tuesday afternoons and also gets together one Saturday per month for service projects and fun activities.
